Getting ready for Christmas

Wow, time flies when you are super busy with everything. It has been busy these last couple weeks. We went to Cedar Rapids the weekend of November 15th to see Sarah and Dustin, kind of our Thanksgiving to say. Then we were off to Iowa City on Wednesday for Thanksgiving with the Pyle's. From there Nick and I left Skyler with my parents and headed out on our vacation. I will post a few pictures next. We had so much fun but we missed Skyler tremendously. Skyler had a great week with Grandpa & Granmda Pyle helping them decorate for Christmas. Since we have been back it has been go go go. We had Nicole's christmas party last night and now we are not busy until Christmas. As you can see above there are pictures of Skyler helping decorate the tree and Skyler lounging and Nick and Sky sitting in Sky's new couch...Nick was pretty much sitting on the floor..LOL. Anyways Skyler knows tons of new words and knows almost every letter of the Alphabet. He loves to look for the moon and is still a huge fan of trains. His vocabulary grew so much on vacation that he has tons of short sentences now!!! He is so much easier to understand!!! Well we are getting freezing cold temperatures with blowing snow. We have been in all day as we had freezing rain this morning so we did not go to church. That's all for now I hope everyone is staying warm!!!

Halloween

We are a little behind in getting these pictures posted but Sky had fun with the trick or treating even though he didn't quite understand it. He had more fun seeing all the other kids in their costumes and trying to take their candy. Skyler's vocabulary is unbelievable!! Lately he has had a thing for calling Nick, Nick instead of daddy, he knows the names of some of the trains on Thomas. He knows all the names of the kids at daycare except the new baby. He just calls him baby!! He loves apples and enjoyed the trip we took to his Great Aunt Denise's to get apples from her tree. He was like our very own apple juicer :) Other than that he is getting to be a big boy. He now weighs 28lbs and is getting to heavy for me to carry!

Other than that it has gotten cold and yucky. We had freezing rain all night last night and now it is snowing. We haven't had enough snow yet to go play in. Good thing it is a holiday we can stay home where it is warm. Otherwise we are doing great. Until next time....

Carving Pumpkins

Well we had a fun weekend this weekend. We have been watching Thomas all the time lately, everything has to do with a train. He is quite the jabber box and strings words together to make short phrases and sentences all the time. He even repeats quite a bit of what we say. We carved pumpkins on Saturday and Skyler had a lot of fun helping with that. He loved getting the seeds out and putting them in a bowl since we roasted the seeds when we were done. MMMMM!!! Anyways I hope all is well with everyone!!

Well our trip to Arizona last weekend went great!!! Skyler did extremely well with flying and it actually put him to sleep almost every flight. We had a great time visiting Charissa, his cousin Jay and Marica and Debra. We even got to play the Wii while we visited Marcia & Debra and Sky loved playing it too. We saw many sites while we were there, including the Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Tombstone with the Ok Corral and the famous shoot out, and drove past the bone yard if I'm correct with the name, it had all the old military planes. Of course the weekend went way to fast and we are back to work as usual. It was great to have a short little get away like that. Hopefully we can do it again sooner than later. I hope everyone is doing well!!!

Well we went to Pumpkin land tonight with my friend Jennifer and her daughter Abby. The kids had a lot of fun!!!

Well it has been a busy couple weeks here for us. Skyler fell a couple weeks ago and had a huge bump on his head. I will post the picture for everyone to see. We have been busy playing outside while it is still nice out too. I will add a couple pictures for everyone to see. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

September 2nd - Sick Day

Wow, you can tell we have been keeping super busy around here!!! Today as you can see by the title is a sick day for Skyler. He had a temp of 105 this morning around 5 a.m. but we thankfully got it down to 100 within an hour or so. We still went to the doctor and could not find an infection but thinks he might have the onset of Bronchitis.... so that was a lot of fun. He is on a decongestant/antihistamine/cough syrup to clear him up. We sort of think it might have been linked to his canine teeth coming in. We officially have 14 teeth and 6 left to go and I don't think it will be more than a week before 2 more come in.

Other than that we went to the Labor Day parade yesterday in Sutherland and Skyler enjoyed the horses and even Santa Claus (yes he made an appearance). His favorite had the be the Shriners in whatever it is they drive. He was so intrigued with them. We visited Les & Lila and had lunch with them this past Sunday too.

In the weeks past we had a visit from Sarah & Dustin and we camped up at the lakes I will get some pictures posted as soon as I can. We also met up with Les, Lila, and Jenni for ice cream while at the lakes.

Other than that we are getting the last minute touches done on the house. Skyler's bedroom is now complete & I'll get pictures up of that as well. The carpet is in the bedrooms upstairs and we are to the point we are done with projects now until next year except for staining and sealing the deck yet. Work has been going great for the both of us!!! Hope to hear from you all!!!

Ok so I know this looks weird but we were eating at the Fair and he didn't want the bun just the hot dog. As you can see he had other uses for the hot dog bun!! LOL

Well we had a fun outing to the State Fair this weekend!!! Skyler Slept part of the time and the rest of the time he was having fun!! We got to see the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses, Clifford the big red dog and he missed Bob the Builder due to sleeping. He got to pretend to work on the farm and loved it when we went through the animal buildings and we watch the cattle being shown. Other than that We burned down the shed we used for ducks last Friday so the yard is starting to look good. This weekend we will be painting Skyler's room. That's all for now!!

August 4th

Hello again everyone!!! It has been awhile but we have been super busy. It has been fun getting adjusted to a new routine once again but we are surviving. Nick is on the road during the week days and home on the weekends. Skyler has been even more fun. He has been lots of new phrases and just got in his 13th tooth soon his mouth will be full. Skyler also go to enjoy his first parade this past weekend. He has been busy scooting around outside on his little 4 wheeler. He also potty on the potty chair for the first time this morning!!!! We are making progress. Other than that we are all healthy and happy to be back in Northwest Iowa. Hopefully next post I will have pictures to put up.

The House & Strawberries

Well in the mix of adding pictures of the house progress I forgot to add the pictures of Skyler at the strawberry patch with me picking strawberries so here are the pictures!!! One of Sky and Allie and I out playing in the yard. Also the house is almost finished but by the pictures you can't really tell that we have a few pieces of wood around the windows left to put on, on the first floor. I need to finish painting them this week!!!

As far as Sky he is doing great!!! He talks more and more every day. Now he is saying night night, all done, of course Allie and boball for snowball. He is doing great at his new sitter.

My job is going great a Pure Fishing. I am very impressed with how well they treat their employees. I've been keeping busy with the house and Sky and the pets since Nick is back on the road for work. Thank goodness we are mostly settled in so that makes things easier. That's all for now, hope everyone is doing well!!!
