Busy week.....

Wow it has been a super busy week for us starting last week Saturday. Skyler came down with a fever on Saturday and then Kaidence on Sunday. Her fever would not go down though with the Tylenol so we took her into ER and they admitted her because they saw a touch of pneumonia in her right lung. She stayed in the hospital until late Tuesday morning and then she finally came home. In the meantime Skyler stayed with Grandpa & Grandma Pyle and he was seen and had influenza A so the two of them could not be together until Skyler was fever free for 24 hours. I can tell you this...the house is not the same when Skyler is not around.

Nick and I managed to stay healthy for the most part but I came down with a little cold on Friday and have lost my voice. Otherwise we have just been short on sleep for the week.

We had baptism yesterday for Kaidence and it was so nice to share such a special day with our family and friends. Everything went well and everyone was healthy!!! Thanks to all those who helped make it special. Sorry if we didn't get the word out to all the family as to when it was. We scheduled it a couple weeks ago and have obviously been busy since then.

Skyler enjoyed having Sarah and Dustin's dog Diesel to play with as he was just Sky's size!! Otherwise things are normal for the most part here. I went back to work on October 7 already which is hard to believe the 6 weeks went so fast. Kaidence will be 2 months old on Wednesday and man is she getting big already. Hopefully everyone is doing well!!!

And I thought time flew before!!!

The kids with Great Grandma

Skyler likes to be right up in Kaidence's face to say hi

This is what happens when you let your toddler dress himself!!!

Hey everyone sorry it has been a couple weeks since I have added new pictures of the family. We have been busy even though it is maternity leave and I have been meaning to update everyone for at least a week now. Things are going well here at home with the kids with a few days that leave me ready to pull all my hair out.

Skyler has been a huge help and seems to have grown up a lot. Man do kids seem so much bigger when you have an infant around. Skyler has been busy working on counting and he loves to put puzzles together!!! He needs very little assistance when it comes to doing puzzles. We have had great weather for him to be enjoying the outdoors so that has been a challenge to watch him and be outside with him and keep an eye on Kaidence but we are managing!!

Kaidence seems to have grown tons already. Her first week home she gained back all but an ounce of her birth weight. On her week 2 checkup she weighed 8lbs 8oz so who knows where she is at right now but if I had to guess I would say close to 10lbs. She is already scooting a little. She went to bed with her head facing east and when I got her up she was facing south. It's way to soon for her to be doing those things!!! Other than that she is sleeping 4 to 5 hour stints at night so I'm getting a good amount of sleep.

As far as Nick goes he has been keeping busy with work, his boat, and house projects when he is not helping with the kids.

We had Grandma Boone over last weekend as well as Aunt Lila which was a nice visit. Also on Labor Day Weekend we had Nick's sister Sarah and his Mom over for the weekend and man did Skyler have a blast with Grandma. We had a wonderful weekend visiting with family.

That is all for now until next time.....

Kaidence Nicole

Wow what an amazing week it has been. Sorry I have not got pictures up sooner but tried yesterday and the website was down. Just a brief note on the chain of events for the week. I was scheduled to be induced Wednesday morning at 7:30 but when I got there I was already have regular contractions so they did not have to induce me but just broke my water to make things happen faster. Kaidence came into this world at 11:31 a.m. on 8/26/09, weighing 7lbs and 7oz and was 20in long. Since then she has been a blessing to our family and has been a super great baby so far. Skyler is enjoying helping with feedings and putting her to bed, and watching the diaper changes.

Otherwise we are doing great and are glad to be home and healthy. I hope this finds everyone doing well!!!

Summer Fun

Well it has been busy this summer with working in the garden and trying to stay active with Sky. We took Sky out in the kayaks on the Ocheyedan Pit last week and then for a swim afterward. He definitely enjoyed that but we don't have pictures as we were afraid to loose the camera in the water or get it wet. Skyler has been helping in the garden by playing in the dirt and mud and loves to eat the green beans as fast as I can pick them.

Nick has spent quite a bit of time fishing in the last couple of weeks so everyone has been on the move here. As for me the pregnancy is nearing the end!!!! Just 3 weeks to go and I feel good so no complaints here. I did cut off a part of my thumb last night though cutting potatoes and to say the least it hurts. No stitches were needed as the skin I cut off was not big enough to reattach but I did cut off part of my thumb nail as well. Somethings are difficult to do as the wound is rather large and I do not want to get infection so dishes and stuff with getting it wet can be a challenge but I do have rubber gloves to use so.

The weather has been absolutely perfect this summer, not to hot and not to cold!!! It could stand to be a bit warmer as I don't think my cantelope are going to get big enough to eat or even amount to anything but my tomatoes are very full and I have froze several quarts of beans. This week I will need to get in the garden and get the carrots up as I think they are about ready but I will need Nicks help on that one so I don't get my thumb dirty and infected. That's all we know for now!!!

Fishing

Nick's big catch for the day...LOL

Skyler's catch with a little of my help

This was Sky's catch all on his own.

Here are some pictures of the last few fishing trips we have been on. Skyler is the best at fishing so far. Seems like every time we go the first time his line hits the water he gets a fish. Man o man does he scream in delight when he reels in that fish!!!!

Swimming

Well we have been keeping busy here and the summer seems to keep flying by. Skyler got new pool this year as he was a little big for his other one so he has been enjoying playing in the pool. He has also been busy helping Nick work in the basement as we are trying to get that insulated before winter. Skyler loves playing in the sawdust. I have been busy with work and Skyler. We spend about every evening home outside in the garden, swimming, or just playing around in the yard. He has learned how to make truck drivers honk so he is always doing that when they drive by.

The pregnancy is going well and so far I have not gained much weight which we are hoping is a good sign that this baby will be smaller in size!!!! We can at least hope for that. Skyler is such a little mime now. Monkey see monkey do. He will repeat almost anything and his vocabulary keeps growing so fast. He loves to play with Allie more and more and I think Allie is finally getting used to him hanging on to her tail and laying on her. Skyler is quite funny when Nick is not listening to him because he will come to me and say "Mommy, daddy don't listen" It is so hard not to laugh when you see the serious look on his face when he says it.

Nick is still busy as usual working full time and part time once in awhile for Curt and finding projects to do at home. He is thinking about building Skyler a picnic table over the winter and a train table so that will keep him busy for like 2 weeks maybe. He has also got to go fishing quite a bit this summer and it is something Skyler likes to go along and help with, as he catches the minnows to put on the hook. He doesn't quite have the patience yet to sit with Nick and hold the fishing pole for more than 2 minutes.

Well hopefully we will have more to update on in a week or two!!
