Kaidence Nicole

Wow what an amazing week it has been. Sorry I have not got pictures up sooner but tried yesterday and the website was down. Just a brief note on the chain of events for the week. I was scheduled to be induced Wednesday morning at 7:30 but when I got there I was already have regular contractions so they did not have to induce me but just broke my water to make things happen faster. Kaidence came into this world at 11:31 a.m. on 8/26/09, weighing 7lbs and 7oz and was 20in long. Since then she has been a blessing to our family and has been a super great baby so far. Skyler is enjoying helping with feedings and putting her to bed, and watching the diaper changes.

Otherwise we are doing great and are glad to be home and healthy. I hope this finds everyone doing well!!!

Summer Fun

Well it has been busy this summer with working in the garden and trying to stay active with Sky. We took Sky out in the kayaks on the Ocheyedan Pit last week and then for a swim afterward. He definitely enjoyed that but we don't have pictures as we were afraid to loose the camera in the water or get it wet. Skyler has been helping in the garden by playing in the dirt and mud and loves to eat the green beans as fast as I can pick them.

Nick has spent quite a bit of time fishing in the last couple of weeks so everyone has been on the move here. As for me the pregnancy is nearing the end!!!! Just 3 weeks to go and I feel good so no complaints here. I did cut off a part of my thumb last night though cutting potatoes and to say the least it hurts. No stitches were needed as the skin I cut off was not big enough to reattach but I did cut off part of my thumb nail as well. Somethings are difficult to do as the wound is rather large and I do not want to get infection so dishes and stuff with getting it wet can be a challenge but I do have rubber gloves to use so.

The weather has been absolutely perfect this summer, not to hot and not to cold!!! It could stand to be a bit warmer as I don't think my cantelope are going to get big enough to eat or even amount to anything but my tomatoes are very full and I have froze several quarts of beans. This week I will need to get in the garden and get the carrots up as I think they are about ready but I will need Nicks help on that one so I don't get my thumb dirty and infected. That's all we know for now!!!

Fishing

Nick's big catch for the day...LOL

Skyler's catch with a little of my help

This was Sky's catch all on his own.

Here are some pictures of the last few fishing trips we have been on. Skyler is the best at fishing so far. Seems like every time we go the first time his line hits the water he gets a fish. Man o man does he scream in delight when he reels in that fish!!!!

Swimming

Well we have been keeping busy here and the summer seems to keep flying by. Skyler got new pool this year as he was a little big for his other one so he has been enjoying playing in the pool. He has also been busy helping Nick work in the basement as we are trying to get that insulated before winter. Skyler loves playing in the sawdust. I have been busy with work and Skyler. We spend about every evening home outside in the garden, swimming, or just playing around in the yard. He has learned how to make truck drivers honk so he is always doing that when they drive by.

The pregnancy is going well and so far I have not gained much weight which we are hoping is a good sign that this baby will be smaller in size!!!! We can at least hope for that. Skyler is such a little mime now. Monkey see monkey do. He will repeat almost anything and his vocabulary keeps growing so fast. He loves to play with Allie more and more and I think Allie is finally getting used to him hanging on to her tail and laying on her. Skyler is quite funny when Nick is not listening to him because he will come to me and say "Mommy, daddy don't listen" It is so hard not to laugh when you see the serious look on his face when he says it.

Nick is still busy as usual working full time and part time once in awhile for Curt and finding projects to do at home. He is thinking about building Skyler a picnic table over the winter and a train table so that will keep him busy for like 2 weeks maybe. He has also got to go fishing quite a bit this summer and it is something Skyler likes to go along and help with, as he catches the minnows to put on the hook. He doesn't quite have the patience yet to sit with Nick and hold the fishing pole for more than 2 minutes.

Well hopefully we will have more to update on in a week or two!!

Omaha Zoo

Well we survived Skyler's first visit to the Omaha Zoo. He seemed to enjoy every part of it except he fell asleep at 1:30 which was just in time to miss the Aquarium, Penguins, and rainforest. He loved the train ride and the monkeys.

His vocabulary keeps increasing all the time and he is attitude is starting to show now of course it is all cute yet!! Hope everyone is doing well.

First Camping trip!!

Well we survived our first camping trip and Skyler had a blast!!! Of course it never fails on Memorial Day Weekend to rain but we just got a little rain overnight on Friday and some rain late Saturday morning and then it cleared up to be a great weekend!!! We camped with some friends and their little boy and Skyler really enjoyed the friend to play with. Here are some pictures of our event. Oh yeah it was also Sky's first time fishing and he had fun for about 2 minutes and then lost interest so Lane and him played in the water instead.

Next weekend we are off to the zoo in Omaha so we will have more pictures then. Otherwise the pregnancy is going really well and there are only 3 months left!!!
