2010 Craziness

As you can see this is how Skyler thinks you wear underwear

Olives

Seriously.....who is in charge of this blog anyways. It has been way to long since my last post and I can tell that we have been nothing but busy around here. Of course we have had tons more snow and bad weather but this week has been a week of sunshine!!!
Where do I start...how bout Skyler. He has been leaning tons of new things from daycare and mommy....LOL. Not sure that is good when he is telling LoLo(his daycare provider) another kid is making him crazy. He is super excited that he is going to be 3 but has yet to be potty trained. I gave up I figure he will do it when he is ready.
Kaidence is growing long but has not put on much weight since last doctors appointment. She is now 14lbs 10oz and is 28in long. She sits up on her own really well but there are still no signs of her rolling over. She is definitely a stubborn one. She loves to be in her exersaucer and her Johnny jumper. She is super curious and I can no longer have her in the bumbo on the counter with me while I'm cooking. She was grabbing everything and throws it on the floor.
Nick has not been up to tons but is now the Fire Chief for the May City Fire Department and he loves every minute of it. Between that and work and selling seed he is not home all that often.
As for me....I'm currently in the unemployed pool. My last day at work was Feb 26 and I have been job hunting and have lots of resumes and apps out so hopefully soon the right job will find me or I will find it. I'm enjoying a week to myself by taking the kids to daycare and working on getting fit again. Stress eating took a toll on me!!

Christmas

Kaidence is her Hawkeye gear compliments of Uncle Brent

One of Skyler's many new toys

The doll Skyler gave Kaidence for Christmas
Well we had a fantastic Christmas here with lots of snow!!! Skyler was so much fun to watch his reactions to his gifts this year. He enjoyed everything he got. Thanks to all!!! He also helped Kaidence open her gifts since she couldn't. For those of you who didn't hear we got lots and lots of snow starting on Dec 23. We got a total of 20 inches between X-mas eve and X-mas day so needless to say we did not make it to church which really bummed us out.
Kaidence had her 4 month checkup on the 23rd and now weighs 12lbs 10oz and is 24 inches long. She is starting to really grow now. It seems like for awhile she just wasn't growing as much. She jabbers all of the time and her giggle just melts your heart. Skyler enjoys holding her and helping play patty cake and reading/listening to books with her. He does a really good job of looking out for her.
Skyler is still in the process of potty training, as we went backwards when Kaidence was born and he wanted nothing to do with the potty but all of sudden he is wanting to sit on it again so hopefully soon!!!
For those of you who have not heard yet my job is being relocated to Columbia South Carolina and I will be without a job as of February 28. There is a chance that they could extend my time with the company and they will have to notify me within a month of my date of termination. Pray that I find something as jobs options are few and far between right now.
Nick has been busy selling Stine seed corn this year. I think he enjoys it because of the new people he meets and the time away from the family but soon he will be out on the ice fishing in his ice shack he won last winter.
That's all for now....HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Wow where has the time gone

Recovering from ear infection and a cold

Nap time

Trouble....I know
We have been so busy I forgot that I haven't updated the blog lately. Well we love watching Kaidence grow and how much Skyler loves to talk to her and try to help her with things. She is talking like crazy already but is not showing any signs of rolling over yet. Kaidence will be 4 months old on the 26th and she currently only weighs 12lbs.
We have had a not so great last couple of weeks. It started off with me finding out my job will be moved to Columbia South Carolina with not option for relocation so I will no longer have a job as of February 26th unless they extend my time. So back to the job hunt, as if we haven't had to do this enough in this family already. Then this week Kaidence came down with ear infection and Skyler got a cold. She is finally back to normal but for 2 days the poor girl was absolutely miserable.
Skyler is little Mr smarty pants lately and we can't help but laugh at some of the funny comments that come out of his mouth. It's crazy to think he will be 3 in March.
Hopefully everyone has a happy holiday season and a Merry Christmas as "Jesus is the reason for the season!"

Busy Busy

Kaidences' first pedicure

Skyler is a monkey

Skyler's new train table

The kids before church
Well we sure have been keeping busy with just life in general. Skyler had a blast trick or treating this year after he got over being shy. We only went to about a dozen houses but he had fun getting candy. He loved his Halloween costume and enjoyed walking around showing off his nana more. Otherwise we are headed to Minneapolis to spend Thanksgiving with Sarah, Dustin and Dan. Nick has come down with some pretty bad congestion otherwise everyone has managed to stay healthy. Skyler got a new train table this week as someone I know from work had one she wanted to get rid of and thought of Skyler. That was awesome because he loves it. That's all we know for now.

Busy week.....

Hanging with Aunt Sarah

Playing with Diesel
Wow it has been a super busy week for us starting last week Saturday. Skyler came down with a fever on Saturday and then Kaidence on Sunday. Her fever would not go down though with the Tylenol so we took her into ER and they admitted her because they saw a touch of pneumonia in her right lung. She stayed in the hospital until late Tuesday morning and then she finally came home. In the meantime Skyler stayed with Grandpa & Grandma Pyle and he was seen and had influenza A so the two of them could not be together until Skyler was fever free for 24 hours. I can tell you this...the house is not the same when Skyler is not around.
Nick and I managed to stay healthy for the most part but I came down with a little cold on Friday and have lost my voice. Otherwise we have just been short on sleep for the week.
We had baptism yesterday for Kaidence and it was so nice to share such a special day with our family and friends. Everything went well and everyone was healthy!!! Thanks to all those who helped make it special. Sorry if we didn't get the word out to all the family as to when it was. We scheduled it a couple weeks ago and have obviously been busy since then.
Skyler enjoyed having Sarah and Dustin's dog Diesel to play with as he was just Sky's size!! Otherwise things are normal for the most part here. I went back to work on October 7 already which is hard to believe the 6 weeks went so fast. Kaidence will be 2 months old on Wednesday and man is she getting big already. Hopefully everyone is doing well!!!

And I thought time flew before!!!
Hey everyone sorry it has been a couple weeks since I have added new pictures of the family. We have been busy even though it is maternity leave and I have been meaning to update everyone for at least a week now. Things are going well here at home with the kids with a few days that leave me ready to pull all my hair out.
Skyler has been a huge help and seems to have grown up a lot. Man do kids seem so much bigger when you have an infant around. Skyler has been busy working on counting and he loves to put puzzles together!!! He needs very little assistance when it comes to doing puzzles. We have had great weather for him to be enjoying the outdoors so that has been a challenge to watch him and be outside with him and keep an eye on Kaidence but we are managing!!
Kaidence seems to have grown tons already. Her first week home she gained back all but an ounce of her birth weight. On her week 2 checkup she weighed 8lbs 8oz so who knows where she is at right now but if I had to guess I would say close to 10lbs. She is already scooting a little. She went to bed with her head facing east and when I got her up she was facing south. It's way to soon for her to be doing those things!!! Other than that she is sleeping 4 to 5 hour stints at night so I'm getting a good amount of sleep.
As far as Nick goes he has been keeping busy with work, his boat, and house projects when he is not helping with the kids.
We had Grandma Boone over last weekend as well as Aunt Lila which was a nice visit. Also on Labor Day Weekend we had Nick's sister Sarah and his Mom over for the weekend and man did Skyler have a blast with Grandma. We had a wonderful weekend visiting with family.
That is all for now until next time.....
